Utopia is pleased to present Ghost Image, an exhibition that explores the fleeting impressions and subtle traces that linger within space. The title refers to both the visual echoes of imagery and the residual atmosphere that remains after an encounter, suggesting presence, memory, and the tension between clarity and disappearance.
The exhibition draws directly from the sub-basement of Utopia's building, a ghost has been communicating through the manipulation of light, and in this dialogue, the atmosphere emerged as the central concept, shaping both the work and the curator’s approach. The selection of paintings and sculptural works centers on a delicate study of line, where marks drift between definition and dissolution. Through a process attentive to the uncertainty of perception, the artist embraces blurs, interruptions, and the momentary hesitations that arise when confronted by the unknown. The result is a body of work that hovers in a state of suspension.
Ghost Image invites viewers into a contemplative space, underscoring how art can reveal not only what is seen, but also what remains after—impressions that continue to resonate long after the initial encounter.
Sound performances are scheduled in accompaniment, and a free newspaper will be distributed.
